IEM donates public Facility

As part of the efforts to help eradicate open defecation in the country Ghana, especially in the rural communities, Intercontinental Evangelistic Ministry (IEM) in collaboration with Hour of Solution international Ministries has handed over a six(6) seater toilet facility to the people of Abetiase in the Upper West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern region. Dignitaries in attendance include Apostle George Abraham Damuah, General Overseer of Hour Of Solutions International Ministries (HOSIM), Rev. Elizabeth Johnson Of IEM Team USA and Nana Mankrado, Obiri Opoku Nyarko,Ankrado of Kwasi Nyarko.

Abitiase is a farming Community in the Lower West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana with a population of over one thousand. The dominant occupation of the community is farming.

The community, since its inception, has never witnessed any social amenities including toilets and portable water.

It is against this background that IEM constructed a six seater toilet facility and a bore hole worth millions of Ghana cedis to serve the people of Abitiase and its surrounding communities.

Earlier, a health screening exercise was organized for the cornmunity members to screen for various ailrnents.

Speaking to the media at a brief ceremony to hand over the two projects, the General overseer of HOSIM, Apostle George Abraham Damuah, said the IEM gesture is to support the community to end open defecation and improve general hygiene in the area.. He said the government cannot do it alone and therefore urges other institutions to support the less privileged in the society.

He however, advised them to maintain the projects.

The Amankrado of Kwasi Nyarko,Nana Obiri Opoku Nyarko expressed gratitude for the gesture. He was optimistic of maintaining the facility to serve its purpose. He also further thanked Rev. Elizabeth Johnson and her team for their kind gesture.

A bore hole each was also drilled in two other communities; Kweku Pamfo in the Greater Accra Region and Kwesi Nyarko (Divine City) in Upper West Akyem Municipality.

The projects brought great joy to the communities which they expressed openly to the media.

The inauguration of the projects was preceded by a Three Day Evangelistic Crusade during which a number of community members gave their lives to Christ.

Apostle George Abraham Damuah, the General Overseer of HOSIM also expressed his immense appreciation to the IEM team lead by Rev. Elizabeth Johnson for their humanitarian efforts in helping to improve the lives of the community members. He also prayed for God’s protection and blessing for all who supported the IEM team to undertake the projects.
